La fábrica FAIANÇAS GERMANO debe su nombre a Germano Luís da Silva (1890-1957), antiguo aprendiz de Rafael Bordallo Pinheiro (1846-1905) y ceramista en activo en ya desde 1926, y cuyo horno producía cerámicas con su nombre desde 1938.
